Frequently Asked Questions
  1. How long does it take to match a custom color?
    Our color matching process normally takes a week and a half. A sample is preferred when a color match is requested, though we can match off of PPG numbers.
  2. Is ALPOLIC® a roofing panel?
    Depending upon your application, ALPOLIC® may be used as a roofing panel.
  3. What type of system do we have?
    ALPOLIC® does not have a system of its own, we are strictly the manufacturer of the aluminum composite panel. We do have a large network of authorized fabricator/installers that we can refer you to.
  4. How does ALPOLIC® ship our panels?
    Our policy at this time is that all orders ship freight-collect from our facility in Chesapeake, VA to destination.
  5. How long does it take to ship stock material?
    Full crate orders of stock material will ship within 2 business days. Orders made up of partial and full crates of stock material will ship in 3-5 business days.
  6. Can you pick up your order at our facility?
    Customer pick-ups are an available option. Orders of 15 sheets or more will require material be crated. Once uncrated material (orders of 14 sheets or less) is placed on your vehicle all responsibility for any damage is assumed by customer.

  9. How is ALPOLIC different from Alucobond® and other similiar panels?
    ALPOLIC® offers the same type of metal composite product as Alucobond and other ACM manufacturers. However, ALPOLIC® also offers a variety of vivid colors used in the signage and imaging markets and other products such as wood grains, polished granite, marble, titanium, stainless steel, copper, brushed and high polished aluminum.
  10. How long as ALPOLIC® been available on the market?
    ALPOLIC® panels were first produced 25 years ago and have been produced in Chesapeake, Virginia since 1991.
  11. What is the difference between Lumiflon® and Kynar®?
    Please refer to our technical bulletin "Lumiflon® Color and Gloss Range" in our Technical Bulletin's section.
  12. Who warrants the installation of ALPOLIC® panels?
    The panel "system" is warrantied by the sub-contractor who has the installation contract. This can be a specialty panel contractor, glass and glazing contractor, sheet metal contractor or other sub-contractor.
  13. What are the benefits of using ALPOLIC® panels?
    ALPOLIC® panels offer the user superior flatness, excellent color uniformity while being lightweight yet durable as well as easy to work with.
